Donal MacAonghusa has won the €100 freezeout tonight. With a larger than usual field and €1,500 added it was certainley a good tournament to win.
There was €10,200 up for grabs, including a ticket to our WSOP satellite on Friday 5th June. Donal walked away with over €3,000 after taking out of the one of the chip leaders at the beginning of the final table.
He pocketed a lot of chips after that and never looked back. His stack only increased over time and was always a threat to others.
Final table regulars Pat McFadden and Mark Spellman had surprisingly early exits. Martin Prudek followed shortly afterwards and then we were 5 handed. Things slowed down for a while and player's raises were getting through the table. Ronan Gilligan became the short stack and pushed a few times without getting called. But his luck wasn't to last and he was our 5th place finisher.
Shortly after the remaining players, Donal, Patrick Aherne, Colin Quarry and Pat Morris, called for a deal. But Pat Morris had exited before talks could begin. Donal had the majority of chips at this stage and ended up with the lions share of the deal. Colin Quarry was our 3rd place and Patrick Aherne was 2nd.
Well done to everyone.
