Last Saturday's Double Chance Freezeout saw Albert Alexander make a Lazurus-like comeback to win the tournament.
With the blind levels at 1000-2000, Albert got his substantial stack in with QQ against JJ only for a J to appear on the flop. Although usually a charming man, Albert can sometimes lose his cool when suffering a bad beat. When he saw the Jack our hero assumed that he was out of the tournament and headed for the exit. No help for the Queens on fourth or fifth street but when the dealer counted the chips, Albert was left with 6000.
A delegation was sent out to bring Albert in from the cold. He returned to AA first hand and trebled up. The rest was plain sailing for the now-all-smiling Egyptian and he collected the poppy beating Patrick McGinley in the heads up.
